Beautiful, hand-painted Hungarian motif on Genuine leather.
A note from the artist: I grew up surrounded by the sounds and sights (and flavors!) of the rich Hungarian culture thriving in Cleveland, Ohio. My father, Rev. Aaron Elek (Pastor of Cleveland’s West Side Hungarian Reformed Church) grew up in the Great Hungarian Plain region of Hungary and my mother’s family comes from Transylvania, which was a cultural center of Hungary before the Treaty of Trianon.
My passion for painting folk art patterns from centuries of Hungarian handiwork connects me to my ancestors and reminds me of how blessed I am to continue a legacy that is so strong in spirit.
I hope you enjoy wearing these as much as I have enjoyed creating them. ~ Lisa
