Serenade of a Swan: The Story of Katalin Boda Jahoda by Lisa Jahoda Jackson.
This book covers the details on life in Hungary under both the Nazis and the Communists and Katalin’s courageous escape to freedom following the 1956 Hungarian Revolution. It is a testament to the Hungarian people’s undying love and steadfast pride in their country.
This book is another great opportunity to learn about the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. The topic is difficult, of course, but when it is mixed with “determination and zest for living” then it is my kind of story.
